What is a fixed IP SIM card?

A fixed IP SIM is a data SIM that gets the same public IPv4 address every time it connects to the mobile network. Standard SIMs get a new, shared address each time, which makes remote access unreliable.

Is a fixed IP the same as a static IP?

Yes. Fixed IP and static IP mean the same thing: an address that does not change.

Do I still need dynamic DNS with a fixed IP SIM?

No. Because the address never changes, you connect straight to it. Dynamic DNS is only needed when the address keeps changing.

Will a fixed IP SIM work in my router?

It works in any unlocked 4G or 5G router, CCTV recorder or IoT device that lets you enter APN settings. Your router must support 5G for 5G speeds.

Can I use a fixed IP SIM outside the UK?

Yes fixed IP can be used outside UK. We have several Roaming plans, covering Ireland, EU and USA. GleeSim can also provide bespoke plans for outside UK, EU and USA, please feel free to speak to our sales team or send us message with required countries for roaming.

Fixed IP SIM Cards

A fixed IP SIM gives your router, CCTV system or IoT device the same public IPv4 address every time it connects, so you can reach it remotely without dynamic DNS or port-forwarding workarounds. GleeSim sells fixed IP SIMs on EE, Vodafone and Three, plus multi-network fixed IP SIMs that switch between Vodafone, O2 and Three. Plans start at £9.50 a month.
